Revival Duo History

Frank from Revival Duo guitar band

Frank

My guitar story began as a teenager in the early sixties in Aberystwyth. I was influenced by Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochran and the Beatles. I played in several local groups and supported big name acts such as The Rolling Stones, The Moody Blues and Cream featuring Eric Clapton. Later I became a solo guitar vocalist before retiring in 2000.

Having decided to revive my love of music in 2025 after meeting up with Gaz, we combined our guitar and vocal talents to perform the exciting sounds of the 60's and 70's as Revival.

I was 11 years old when I bought my first guitar in a music shop in Dublin. It cost me the huge amount of £3 in old money. I was on a scouts camping holiday. So the first song was Kum-by-ya. Only three keys, so not a lot changed there!

Over the last few years I have enjoyed playing with two good friends of mine and we called ourselves The Tribillies. I decided last year that I would give up my music and sell off most of my equipment. In so doing I sold a few items to another good friend of mine Frank, who persuaded me to come out of retirement and join him in a duo we have called "Revival" and enjoy playing 60s & 70s music.
